It may seem like we only recently announced the release of MIUI 13, yet the first rumors about the next version of the software overlay are already starting to appear. Everything indicates that the debut of MIUI 14 for Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO smartphones may happen… as early as this month! Mid-August is the most frequently mentioned launch date, although we’ll still have to wait for official confirmation. One thing is certain — the latest version of the interface is a response to the official launch of Android 13, which brings major changes. Last week, we answered the question “Which smartphones will receive the MIUI 14 update?” Today, we’ll take a closer look at the most important new features you can expect with the update to version 14.
First of all
An update to App Vault, the free app available on the Play Store. It gathers in one place the most important functions, shortcuts, search results, and security tools.
Secondly
A new interface for the Clock and Calculator apps. With their refreshed look, they’ll be even simpler and more intuitive to use.
Thirdly
The text recognition feature in photos will allow you to highlight and copy selected text fragments with ease.
Fourthly
A new album called “On This Day” that will automatically create galleries from specific days, making it easier to group photos and revisit your captured memories.
Fifthly
The ability to block and disable persistent notifications directly from the notification panel.
Sixthly
The option to uninstall Downloads and Gallery apps.
Seventhly
Further expansion of the Control Center, which was first introduced in MIUI 13.
Eighthly
A new anti-fraud protection mechanism [NEW], offering effective user security by blocking suspicious activities — including calls, SMS messages, and apps.
And last but not least...
Full support for Bluetooth Audio LE technology, directly tied to the debut of Android 13. The latest version of the system has been adapted to this standard — one that developers themselves call “the future of sound.”
