How to set a private number on a Xiaomi smartphone?

Let’s start with the simplest method. If you need to hide your number only temporarily, the quickest option is to use a one-time solution. When necessary, enter the code #31# on your keypad, then type the number you want to call and press the green call button. You can also save the contact with #31# at the beginning — this way, your number will always remain hidden when calling that particular person or company. Incredibly simple, right?
Hide your number
Entering the code every time can get tedious. If you make calls frequently and want your number to remain hidden, a better solution is to change the settings in the app. To adjust the default display of outgoing calls, open the Settings app and follow these steps: Apps / System app settings / Call settings. Then find the section called Advanced settings. In the subsection labeled OTHER, you will see Caller ID. Select it and tap again. You’ll notice that by default, the display option is set to “Network default.” If you want to hide your number, choose that option and save your change. This way, your number will be permanently hidden.
Remember!
When using the above method, your phone number will also be hidden from your close contacts. Some of them may have a block on private numbers enabled, which means you will not be able to reach them.
How to unhide your number?
Changed your mind or selected the option by accident? No problem — just go back to the Caller ID settings and switch the display method back to “Network default.”
