How does an electric bike work?

Electric bikes, also known as e-bikes, are bicycles equipped with an electric motor that assists with pedaling. Thanks to this motor, cycling becomes easier and less tiring, especially over long distances or uphill. The primary component of an electric bike is the electric motor, which can be placed in various locations. The most common types of motors are:
1. Front motor: Mounted in the front hub of the bike, this type of motor provides power to the front wheel.
2. Rear motor: Mounted in the rear hub of the bike, this type of motor provides power to the rear wheel.
3. Mid-drive motor: Mounted in the central part of the bike, usually near the crankset. The mid-drive motor provides better balance and a more natural feel while riding.

Electric bikes are powered by batteries that supply energy to the motor. The level of electric assistance can be adjusted, usually via a control panel located on the handlebars. An electric bike can have several assistance modes, such as eco mode, normal mode, and sport mode, which vary in the degree of electric assistance and affect the bike's maximum speed.
